my friend was in a car accident and all the other witnesses left the scene.
when the police showed up he was sitting behind the car and the driver also left the scene of the car he was in.
he was arrested
then it was dismissed the next day for no probable cause

now the prosecution has reopened the case but still has no witnesses against him

will he be in trouble for this?

Sounds like week evidence, if they found no probable cause the first time, and then re-opened, they must have some new profound evidence that proves your friend was the driver.

It’s impossible to say if he;s in trouble because you haven’t specified what charges are being levelled against him (I could guess it’s DWI, but you really should have specified that) and what basis was used to establish his guilt. It sounds as if they think he was the driver.

Questions like this are frequently posted here by people who leave out the most important detail – why does law enforcement think that they are guilty?

Troy, You are not specific enough. You say your friend was "sitting behind the car". You you mean behind the wheel, was it his car? Was your friend breathalysed or did he undergo a sobriety test?
What was he charged with-DUI?
I cannot see how he can be charged again, unless something has changed since the first court appearance. Has someone involved suffered a delayed injury or died?
We need more information.

In Sparta, King Leonidas consults the local oracle, who gives two options: Either a spartan king will have to be sacrificed, or Sparta will be burned to the ground. Its kind of pathetic if you ask me. I was seeing this girl for like 2 months and I was at my house with her and my daughter and niece. and my little girls asked me to go jump on the trampoline with them and ofcourse that was an offer I couldn’t refuse. So we come back in the house like 30 minutes later and this girl got mad at me she said I wasn’t giving her enough attention I just looked at her like is this chick deadass serious?!& that was the last time I saw her…and its not the first time this has happened..these girls don’t get that my 6 year old and 8 year old are my life!! Why did Star Trek: Nemesis make half of what Insurrection made? Nemesis was a far superior movie. Explanation?

I think by the time "Nemesis" came out many Trek fans already blamed executive producer Rick Berman for what they felt was running the franchise into the ground. Trying to turn Shinzon into the modern day Khan Noonien Singh was more or less the last straw, and thus likely boycotted the movie as a result.
Myself, I liked "Nemesis". Plenty of action, as promised, plus I love the Enterprise-E going all out in battle. Many Trek purists preferred "Insurrection" of the two, since the plot was felt more like the original series.

i’ll agree with the fifth doctor on this one.i liked nemesis as well,especially the starship battle scenes(they put wrath of khan to shame!).however,nemesis was nothing more than a bad wrath of khan rewrite.

i’ll go over the similarites point by point:

1.main bad guy created by genetic engineering:khan in wrath of khan,shinzon was a genetically engineered clone of picard

2.main bad guy was sent into exile at 1 point in their lives:khan was exiled to ceti alpha 5,shinzon was sent to remus

3.main bad guy wants revenge on a captain of the enterprise:khan wanted his revenge for his exile on ceti alpha 5,shinzon wanted vengencance on picard because picard lived the life that shinzon never did

4.main character sacrifices himself to save the ship:spock in wrath of khan,data in nemesis

5.main bad guy acquires weapon of great power and threatens enterprise with it:khan had genesis,shinzon had thalaron radiation

6.one character "downloads"himself into another:spock transfers his katra to mccoy in wrath of khan,data downloads his memories into B4

7.both had directors that were totally unfamilar with star trek:it worked for wrath of khan,but not for nemesis

i’m sure there are others,but you see my point

now i know that 1 of the criticisms of star trek 6 was that it was a rewrite of star trek 2,however there was enough original material to make this less obvious.

also the fact that john logan was given free reign with the screenplay and wasn’t controlled also stuart baird,great editor,not so good as a director!

i’m sure there are other reasons!

Enterprise was the series on the air at the time and Rick Berman and Brannon Braga were being soundly criticized by long time fans for making a mess of the show. They hated that B&B caved in to the shipping wars among first time fans who had a write-in campaign asking for a romance between two of the characters. The show was already having trouble hitting its stride with a major story arc that went abslutely nowhere and disappeared after the first season with no resolution. Then to have it turned into an outer space romance, complete with prime time sex scenes, instead of exploration of space and character development – well, it was the last straw. Longtime fans stopped watching the series and decided to boycott the movie in order to let Paramount know they were unhappy with the direction B&B were taking the franchise. "Nemesis" was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire. But the longtime fans got their point across. Enterprise was canceled after only four seasons and "Nemesis" was a loss at the box office.
Longtime fans knew one thing Paramount didn’t know: there aren’t enough first time teenage fans in the world to make up for the number of longtime fans who turned off their TVs or stayed away from the movies. After Enterprise was canceled, those young fans went on to Harry Potter, Twilight, etc. fandoms without a backward glance at Star Trek.
Time will tell if the longtimers still have the clout to affect the future reboot movies.

i don't wan't to lose my BFFL to a sociopath but i don't want to seem possessive..?
so me and my friend .. lets call her ‘Naomi’ have been best friends since we were 8 when i moved to the same estate that she lived on we were basically instant friends. when we hit 11 we didn’t go to the same secondary school but were still best friends and hung out ALL THE TIME because we lived literally right next door to each other. but then i moved and we only talked every now and again. but we still tell each other everything and confide in our problems – which we don’t do to any of our other friends. the only problem is that this girl that we lived on the same estate as .. lets name her ’sandra’ is now really close friends with her too because they still live on the same estate as each other and go to the same secondary school. so hang out ALL THE TIME at school now.

… I HATE this girl. we were friends for like a month when we were ten (5 years ago) and have just hated each other ever since then. and my best friend hated her too ( up until 13 when they made friends at school ) so basically it was me and my best friend ‘naomi’ and the ’sandra’ and another girl .. lets call her ‘ Danielle ‘ were basically at war! but at the same time as ’sandra’ and my best friend made friends me and ‘danielle’ made friends. How did my 2-year-old parakeet die?
On New Year’s Morning (a great morning to discover this) I found my parakeet Henry dead at the bottom of his cage. My family and I have had him for about two years since he was a few-month-older, and it was hard to see him like this, (he always looked like a little baby to us.)

But, now we also have a 6-9-month-old cockatiel. She’s on the other side of the room from where he used to be as I type this, and I’m really worried about her health after Henry’s sudden death. I’m planning on going to an avian vet to get her checked out as soon as we all possibly can, (which, unfortunately, won’t be for at least a few more days; we aren’t exactly centrally located to an actual avian clinic; everything we’ve been to handles solely cats and dogs), especially because she’s so young and her immune system can be susceptible to anything, especially compared to a 2-year-old.

About a week and a half to two weeks before Henry died, my mom and I decided to relocate him to a nicer part of our living room, which was a little bit higher than where he used to be. What we didn’t realize is that my dad had recently been tinkering with the heating vent nearby; the vent was exposed for a short time and was blowing hot air at him for the four days he stayed up there. I have to admit that sometimes we can forget to keep a keen eye on him, (at the time we were remodeling the house as well), and he didn’t get a good food-and-water change for at least a day and a half. When we found time to check on him, his water was completely bone dry, and the husks from his food dish were strewn all over his equally distressed cage. Shocked, we took him down immediately and put him back in his original lower place and replenished his water and food supply, but I guess health-wise, we may have been too late. Henry acted really weird after that, almost neurotic; a simple, everyday sound like someone coughing or a light turning on or off seemed to get him extremely agitated. His eyes were a little freaky, too; they constantly seemed to be dilating. Even though he was acting so weird, I figured that he was eating and drinking normally and was responding to contact, (in a flustered way, but I didn’t think much of it at the time), and that he would get over this funk in a week’s time or so, to which my mom agreed, (although as hesitantly as I did.) In the meantime, he was very lethargic, and we attributed it to the exhaustion from not receiving enough food and water for that amount of time.

Bindi – my younger cockatiel – shows a few symptoms like Henry did, although she shows them much, much more mildly. Turning on lights and making sounds does agitate her, but it’s more like a "grumpy cat" reaction, (ruffles up feathers, gives you a "what the heck did you do that for?" look, and goes back to her business.) She eats everything in sight (including the healthy stuff, something that I have to note that Henry never did; Henry was a fruit and treat junkie) and drinks water normally and at a regular basis, (in the meantime, since she’s in the vent area, but just at a lower height, I’ve been dropping small ice cubes in her water to make sure it stays cool enough to keep from drying out.) She gets lethargic as well, but my mom said that she heard from a bird-breeding friend of hers that birds as young as she is often require a lot of naps, so we haven’t paid much concern to that.

Anyway, I just want to know what happened to Henry both as closure to the mystery behind his death and as a reassurance that Bindi won’t have the same fate. Thanks so much if you can help. Like I said, the next opportunity we’ll have to find a clinic to take her to won’t be until at least a few more days, so we would really appreciate some at-home advice as to watching and caring for her until then. Also, as I said before, she is in the area that Henry was when he was near the vent, but she’s at a much lower position, and direct thermal contact between her and the vent is completely blocked by the Christmas tree we still have up, (and the vent is currently covered with the new grate.)
